Christie & Paul. [engaged]

posted 09.3.2010 under weddings

Christie and Paul met playing soccer. How awesome is that?! They compliment eachother, and are so ridiculously cute together. They’re getting married in a castle in England, which just adds to how awesome they are!

I love how happy they are together.

I love Christie’s smile. It’s infectious.

Laughter makes me happy.

I love plain coloured walls, this wall was no exception!

I had SO much fun shooting you two, Christie you’re going to make a stunning bride!

This summer I have been particularly thankful for one thing, or one person I should say. I’m not usually that mushy girl, you know.. the girl who swoons, gets butterflies and thinks ‘I wonder what ’so & so’ is doing right now?’ and what not. I’m the sarcastic smart ass, who laughs too much. The tough girl. That’s until I met my boyfriend (alright, I’m still a sarcastic smart ass, but a mushy one at that haha)..

We met camping. Picture this.. I had a bandana one, a baggy hoodie, carebears pajama pants (I don’t care what you say! I still love these pajamas!), and to top this fantastic combination off, a scarf that I wore as a shawl. Not because I think shawls look good, especially while camping, but because I’m the expert camper who didn’t wear a jacket. I live in Calgary, you know.. the place where it can snow during the summer. This camping trip was no exception. I didn’t bother wearing makeup, or doing my hair, what kind of camping would that have been otherwise?! hah. Alright, so now that you’re mentally horrified at what I wore, please note * I did not know other people were coming on this trip*. I would have at least worn the matching carebears top had I known ;)

So there we were, sitting around the fire talking and from the get go I had a feeling. When he left I thought to myself ‘puleaseeee add me on facebook’, because that’s what mature adult women think.. right?! Hahaha, the moment I had service I checked my facebook and sure enough, there was a friend request.

For the first few days we facebook messaged eachother, talking about anything and everything. It wasn’t until one night he was out that we exchanged numbers and the question game began. You remember the question game?! A couple days later we went on our first date. Now you know how I knew he was a keeper from the start? Please refer back to paragraph number 2. I’m pretty sure my outfit made even the carebears cringe. Reason number 2, on our first date we saw Letters To Juliet. Yep, and he even seemed to enjoy it.

Fast forward to now, my boyfriend is back at school in the States and even though he’s a 27 hour drive away (I’m a very good co-pilot by the way, just saying!)  I can honestly say, the old saying ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ is most definitely true. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been with someone. When we first met I told one of my dear co-workers ‘he’s not really my type’, she looked at me, threw her head back and laughed and replied ‘And how has your ‘type’ been working out for you so far?’. So here I am, dating this guy who’s ‘not my type’ and I can honestly say he’s perfect for me. We fell in love hard and fast, and I haven’t looked back since.

Since a photo blog, isn’t a photo blog without photos I’m going to post some of Jonny & I. These were taken at the studio I work at (Life Photo Studios), by the hilariously awesome Kristy.

I couldn’t resist having some photos with my dog Frankenstein (we call her Frankie, or Frank for short). Fortunately Frank has had her hair cut since these photos, haha.

So there we have it, this week I’m thankful for my boyfriend. I hope every girl is lucky enough to find someone who compliments their personality, and adores them like they should. I love hearing about how couples met, so feel free to comment!

Shawna & Dave. [married]

posted 08.23.2010 under weddings

I met Shawna & Dave about a week before their wedding. I was originally supposed to second shoot their wedding, but the main shooter ended up being unable to do it. I’m used to getting to know my brides before the big day, but Shauna’s outgoing personality made it seem like I had known her forever. Their wedding was beautiful, and their wedding party was a riot. I’m happy to have been a part of their big day!

Who doesn’t love Lego!?

I have come to the conclusion, that I LOVE bubbles. I’m like a little kid, I get so excited haha.

I absolutely love the expressions in the next series..

These three are sisters… talk about good genes eh? ;)

I had a blast shooting your wedding, congratulations!!!

Jordan.

Jordan has weaseled her way into my heart, and quickly became one of my favourite people. Her and I love eating and laughing, and being ridiculous together. Jordan is also drop dead gorgeous, so I’ve been wanting to do a shoot with her since we first met. Her makeup was done by the oh so lovely Nikki Benzel from MAC, and her hair done by myself. Brace yourselves..

Eat your hearts out!

Sheri & Mike. [married]

posted 07.28.2010 under weddings

Sheri & Mikes wedding was an absolute blast. Not only are they this fun young couple, but their friends were a reflection of that. Sheri was an absolute VISION, and Mike was rather dashing himself.

I couldn’t resist doing a shoe shot of Emilys shoes ;)

The groomsman surprised Sheri with bouquets of flowers.. SO sweet.

Remember when I said Sheri was a vision?! I wasn’t kidding!!!

Their ceremony was simple & sweet, and perfect for them.

I had a blast doing ‘formals’ with them.

The boys were way too much fun.

Sheri is one of those awesome brides who allots for plenty of time for photos.. ;)

BUBBLES!!!

I seriously had the hardest time picking images for this blog entry, because I loved everyone and everything. I figured the carousel picture was a good note to end this entry on. Thanks again for having me be a part of your special day, I couldn’t have asked for a better bridal party!
