Best of 2011.

posted 01.4.2012 under personal

Alright, here are some of my favourite photos from 2011. This year has flown by, I feel like I say that every year but I swear every year keeps going by faster and faster. Does this mean I’m getting old?! In 2011 I photographed the wedding of my bestest friend growing up, I went to Seattle to watch a bunch of bands play with amazing people, I shot a wedding in England with some of the nicest people I’ve met, and I bought a house with my boyfriend! From the day we saw the house, to the day we took possession was TEN days. It was absolute madness, and I’m amazed it came together so nicely, but on December 23rd I became a homeowner ;). So my house is almost done, with the exception of my office. I’m currently sitting in a room full of boxes, but luckily my desk is set up! So here it is, some of my favourites from 2011!

So what was your new years resolution(s), if you made any? Mine is to shoot what I love, and love what I shoot. Thank you to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of shooting this year, I’m very fortunate to have the job I do that’s for sure. Also, thank you to those that comment on my blog. It let’s me know you’re out there somewhere and makes me feel warm inside!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Wedding Guest.

posted 07.6.2011 under personal, weddings

On the weekend I did something I haven’t done for years. I attended a wedding as a guest. I won’t lie, the whole concept was a little mind boggling to me, and it definitely took everything in me not to shoot. At the request of my Mom, I took a few photos,  since I was after all her date for the wedding I couldn’t say no. I was a good girl though, and sat in my seat and took.. wait for it.. 3 whole photos. Haha, the rest were photos of my Mom and my new buddy Summer who kept me entertained all day.

My Moms beautiful friend Miriam & her new husband Peter!

Cutest little girl ever!

My wedding date/ Mom. And no, my Mom doesn’t resemble a vampire like myself haha.

Summer pretty much made my entire day. And just when you think she can’t get any cuter, check out her boots!

I’m extremely happy for Miriam & Peter, and I can’t wait to see your wedding photos!  I have to admit though, as a guest my favourite part of a wedding is the food, afterall a girls gotta eat! What’s your favourite part?!

My Super Awesome Birthday Sale!!!

posted 04.23.2011 under personal

Today, I turned 25. Darryl is making me homemade poutine, since it’s my favourite food and I get to shoot the adorable Vivianna (which you’ll have to wait to see!!!). I decided since I only turn 25 once, what better way to celebrate than to have a sale! Tell your friends, cause this sale is on for 25 days!

Special thanks to Crave cupcakes for tasting so good, and to everyone who has been kind enough to wish me a happy birthday. So there you have it! I’m super excited about this sale, so if you know of a friend getting married, feel free to pass this along!

Thank Blog It’s Friday! [12]

posted 04.8.2011 under personal

Right now there’s a good chance you’re sitting at your desk at work (looking at my blog procrastinating haha!), luckily for all you 9-5 people it’s Friday! And as you know (thanks to Rebecca Black of course har har) Friday = Fun! So here’s a fun blog post, filled with things I love and am grateful for this week in particular.

- Youtube! I was discussing youtube the other day, and if you ever want to learn how to do something.. youtube it! I’ve learned songs on piano, how to knit.. the most random things. Not to mention how hilariously entertaining it can be.

- Shooting babies. I love shooting babies. I’ve shot hundreds at the studio, and it’s probably one of my favourite thing to shoot. (just to clarify, I am referring to taking photos here.. haha)

- Chocolate. More specifically anything reeses peanut butter related. Easter is just around the corner, and guess who gave up chocolate recently? Not the best timing that’s for sure!

My little brother/assistant/bestfriend Alex and I did a mini shoot the other day, so he could have a photo for his youtube channel. You’ll have to check out his channel to see which photo he used!

Our wonderful hairdresser Omar at Velvet Style is to thank for his new ‘do.

Alex just posted his very first video on YouTube, it’s a Kid Cudi cover. I feel like a proud parent, haha. So go check it out! Leave him some YouTube love!

Alex’s Cover!

What are your likes for the week?

Thank Blog It’s Friday! [11]

posted 01.7.2011 under personal

I’m sending a belated HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! I hope everyone has been enjoying good food, and of course good company. I cannot believe it’s 2011, time flies! I have alot of fun contests up my sleeve this year, and a bunch of beautiful blog posts coming your way.

Since it’s a new year, I figured not only will I post what I’m grateful for in 2010, but my goals for 2011!

What I’m most grateful for in 2010!

- I’m grateful for my new room, sounds a little lame but I have put lots of thought into it, and it’s perfectly me. Homesense, Urban Outfitters and Ikea did me proud.

- My incredible group of guy friends. They’re always there for me, and make me laugh even when I’m sad. I can’t imagine 2011 without them. And of course I’m grateful for Laryssa and Jordan. They’re probably two of my favourite girlfriends, and I love them.

- My family, of course!

- Glee. Yep, I said it. I LOVE Glee. In high school, I may or may have not been in show choir so Glee is near and dear to my heart. I recently purchased the Rollingstones Glee poster and am framing it and putting it on my wall. Shocking that I’m single right?! Hahaha.

- And probably the biggest one of 2010, my dog Frankenstein. She has turned me into one of those people who show strangers pictures of their dog. Yep, I’m one of them. She is the most loving dog in the world, and gets called an assortment of nicknames.. Frank (with or without a german accent), Frankie, Franklin, Frankfurt, Frank and beans, and lastly just beans.

Since I’m a proud Momma, here’s a few pictures.

Not only was Franks head way too small for her antlers.. but she HATED them.

I think I embarrassed her…

A couple doggie treats later, and the antler incident was long forgotten.

2011 is all about bettering myself and my company. We recently purchased the greatest thing in the world (okay, maybe not the world but it’s pretty sweet!). Kinect. I am in love with it. My best friend and brother Alex and I have been dominating Dance Central, and with that being said.. that’s my personal goal for the year. To have fun getting into shape playing Kinect. Nothing crazy, and unattainable.. just fun!

My other goal is to blog more, infact I will have another blog for you by the end of the weekend. So hang tight, leave a comment and have an awesome weekend!
