Thank Blog It’s Friday! [8]

posted 03.5.2010 under personal

I’m going to start this blog entry with a fact: I am extremely proud to be Canadian, more than ever. Here’s my list of things I’m grateful for this week!

- Canada. I have a confession to make though- I didn’t watch a single Olympic game on television. With that being said, I don’t have cable. However, Sunday I was working at the studio when I heard two people screaming- I ran to the front to find Kathy and a guy who works at the Blacks next door, watching the epic hockey game on the computer. So I DID watch the last 30 seconds of the game, haha.  And I’ll say it again- I’m extremely proud to be Canadian.

- Akismet- I complained in an earlier entry about the ridiculous amount of spam I’ve been receiving on my blog, and my prayers (seem to have) been answered! The sneaky buggers that are spam, have been getting harder and harder for me to decipher whether or not they’re legitimate comments. Telling me how good my blog entry is, HAHA only for me to realize by the url/e-mail that it’s a spam account . How cruel!

- As I’ve mentioned before, I love Cake Wrecks- and some of you may also be familiar with Awkward Family Photos (Hilarious), but I’ve recently discovered  Wedinator. This site is aimed solely at hilariously awful wedding photos/moments. Hopefully you enjoy these sites as much as I do!

- Last but not least… COOKIES! There was once a time in my life, where I was referred to as ‘a cookie monster’. Sadly enough, this nickname wasn’t given to me when I was little (when it would have been somewhat cute). Tonight I made cookies, and by made I do mean I put the pre-made cookies on the cooking sheet and put them in the oven.

Haha, but it reminded me of my last trip to Victoria where Cole and I baked cookies. She remembered the recipe from some ad she saw, and claimed they were the best cookies. We baked the cookies, but it wasn’t until they were half way done baking that we realized that the chocolate kisses were supposed to be put on the cookies AFTER they were done baking. Needless to say, they looked like little (excuse my english) turds.

See! I wasn’t kidding!

You’ll notice our poopy cookies on the Left. The right photo was our second batch, which we managed to bake properly :P

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy the beautiful weather :)

Christal & Francois. [engaged]

posted 03.2.2010 under Engagements

I briefly met Christal at Tessas costume birthday party in 2006, I only remember because her and her boyfriend Francois weren’t wearing costumes. I on the other hand attended in full costume as the darkest haired Marilyn Monroe in history. These photos are the second and third tagged photos of me in facebook history, which means they’re old haha.

As you can see, Chantel is the casual brunette version of Marilyn! Haha, clearly we weren’t very original. Now that we’re done looking at these not so good photos of myself, let’s get back to Christal.

I received an e-mail from her last year, and we started e-mailing back and forth about her upcoming wedding. Her, Francois and I went for hot chocolate and we ended up chatting for hours. Christal is the type of girl you can’t help but love. She’s lovely, and ridiculously sweet. She’s also an incredibly talented hairdresser here in Calgary (figures Tessa, an extremely talented make-up artist would be good friends with a hairdresser! haha). One of the first things I found out about Christal is that she loves purple, maybe even as much as I do!!! How could I not love her?! Haha, with that being said Francois is equally as rad as she is. When you’re around them it’s obvious how perfect the two of them are together.

Here’s some of their engagement photos from January!!!

Meet Taquito!!!

Christals engagement ring is unique, and perfect for her.

Once again we found ourselves at a coffee shop, where we wound up chatting for hours. I have the best job in the world! I get paid to hang out with awesome people :) I’m extremely excited to shoot their wedding next month! With talented girls like Christal and Tessa involved, I know it’s going to be a beautiful wedding.
