Thank Blog It’s Friday! [7]

posted 01.29.2010 under personal

I was playing Super Mario & drinking an energy drink (yep, on a Friday night haha)… when I realized the evening was almost over and I still hadn’t started my Friday blog! It’s 11:56pm, so I have 4 minutes! Haha.

What I’m grateful for this week:

- The Now & Then soundtrack. Growing up my bestfriend Sheila & I watched that movie religiously, and I can honestly say the soundtrack is hands down my favourite soundtrack ever. Jackson 5 - I Want You Back, Badfinger - No Matter What, Free - All Right Now, Stevie Wonder - Signed, Sealed, Delivered, and Vanity Fair - Hitchin A Ride.. all favourite songs of mine, all on one soundtrack. It makes me happy.

- Nintendo. More specifically Super Mario & Duck Hunt. Remember Duck Hunt? With the gun and everything, I love it. Kids these days don’t appreciate the simplicity, haha.

- Cake Wrecks. Anyone who is not familiar with this hilariously entertaining site, should definitely check it out! They post legitimate cake wrecks, you’ll have to check it out to see! And on Sundays they have Sunday Sweets, which showcase really beautiful cakes. Is it strange that I enjoy a blog specifically about cakes? Haha what can I say, I love sweets.

And here are 2 pictures of one of my favourite people in the whole wide world. My little brother. Who happens to be over 6 feet.. so my not so little brother.

George.

posted 01.24.2010 under personal

My Grandpa has called me George my entire life. He’s never called me Jacqueline, not even once. It wasn’t till this Christmas that I finally asked him why exactly he called me George, not that I minded. He said, ‘Because Jacqueline is too hard to pronounce!’. Fair enough Grandpa, fair enough.

Last Friday my Grandpa was fine, probably sitting at home watching Coronation Street. Next thing you know, he’s in the hospital after having a heart attack. Which was followed a few days later by an even worse one. My extended family and myself spent the last week taking turns visiting, and hanging around the hospital. My back aches from sitting on a window sil for hours at a time.

My Grandpa died today. It feels weird even typing it to be honest. It’s crazy how quick things happen, a constant reminder how valuable every moment is. There we all were, sitting around his bed.. we laughed, we cried. A nice reminder how important family truly is. I guess the old saying is true- laughter truly is the best medicine, alongside hugs which always seem to lead to tears.

It’s been a weird week, a sad week. Definitely a week I won’t forget. So with that, I leave you a single image from May that I felt appropriate. Hug your family members tight, and don’t forget to tell them you love them. You never know which goodbye will be the last.

This week.. has been a weird one to say the least. But with that being said, I’m still grateful for many things ;)

This weeks list: (drumroll pleaseee)

- Family - yep, family. So underrated.

- My beetle convertible.. it’s my baby.

- Hot chocolate (I bought some low fat hot chocolate mix.. and then mini marshmallows- they cancel eachother out, right?)

- Janet Evanovichs Plum Series- hands down my favourite book series. Yep kiddos, even better than Twilight. Haha.

- Tracy, who works at the studio with me. All her and I do when we’re around eachother is laugh, and I love it.

Since everyone loves photos, (and if you don’t I think you’re on the wrong site :p) here are some of my bestfriend from a roadtrip in July!

And what’s a roadtrip without some lame mirror picture?! And yes, the girl smiling like a goof is me. Haha.

Sandy is absolutely lovely, everything about her. Her smile, laugh, family, everything. I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon at her beautiful home to take photos of her baby girl. I have to warn you, this family is way too cute. Proceed at your own discretion.

Hands down the most impressive babies closet I have yet to see. It was a surprise for Sandy, a lovely surprise at that ;)

I fell in love with her dress. Polka dots + ruffles = adorable. (Unless you’re an adult.. not so cute then, haha!)

How cute is she?!?! She was so well behaved it was amazing. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Christmas Eve, I was informed by my cousins and friend Jenne that they were upset I had stopped my Friday blogging. Truth be told, I felt like I was the only person reading it but since I know I’m not the only one, I’ve decided to revive it! With that being said, feel free to leave comments - I love them, and it lets me know someone out there is reading this!

2009 is was a tough year, but it only got better. I’m looking forward to conquering 2010, so here’s what I’m grateful for last year:

- Being able to travel to Santa Barbara

- Shooting Tessas wedding in the Dominican in May

- Being full self-employed, and working through Life Photo Studios

- My AWESOME co-workers!!!

- Having my first ad!!! It’s in the newest issue of Wedding Bells for those wondering

- My awesome friends, family and boyfriend.

- Moving out of my parents, though I won’t lie- I do miss my family lots.

Here are some of my favourite images from 2009.

I hope everyone had a lovely New Years! I spent last evening doing two of my favourite things - editing & watching movies, so I can’t complain :)

Happy New Years!!!
